Fernande Brachmond, born in 1961, is originally from Bilsdorf. She lives with her husband Charles Marx and their three daughters in Bavigne. Fernande Marx was the first director of the “Ouwersauer” Nature Park and died in a tragic car accident in 2001.
For many years, she was passionately involved in local development, promoting partnership-based cooperation, a shared sense of belonging among residents, and inter-municipal projects. Mobilizing the population for the Nature Park was particularly close to her heart.
In an editorial in the Park's newspaper, she wrote: “The Nature Park will never be a finished project; it must be seen as an ongoing process in which all concepts and measures aim to preserve and develop the natural, social, and cultural environment of the inhabitants.”
The Nature Park continues her work and develops the initiatives she launched, respecting the spirit she defined. The regional product brand “vum Séi” is now available in all shopping centers in Luxembourg. The solar boat has become a major element of environmental awareness and tourism in the region. The sculpture symposiums in Bilsdorf and Lultzhausen have borne fruit and led to new initiatives, such as the “Waasserzeechen” project in Insenborn.
In recognition of her work, the Rambrouch municipal council decided in February 2023 to name a street in her honor in Bilsdorf.
