## Who is she?

Marion Huberty, born on January 3, 1964, in Esch-sur-Alzette, is a renowned athlete in powerlifting and weightlifting. She married Alain Hammang, with whom she shares a passion for bodybuilding.

Together with Malou Thill, Marion Hammang stood out in the 1980s and 1990s by participating in high-level international competitions.

A member of the elite COSL framework from 1987 to 1995, she won her first European title in 1985 in Dordrecht (Netherlands), marking the beginning of a series of remarkable successes. She is a three-time European powerlifting champion (1985, 1986, 1987), and was also crowned world champion in 1990 in the Bench Press, as well as world champion in powerlifting in 1992 in the 60 kg category.

Marion Hammang set numerous national and international records, consolidating her place among the world elite. She was named Luxembourg Sportswoman of the Year in 1990 and 1992 by the Luxembourg Sports Press Union, an honor that reflects her impact and popularity.

Outside of her athletic career, Marion Hammang worked as a municipal agent in her hometown of Esch-sur-Alzette.

Marion passed away on April 5, 2017, in Esch-sur-Alzette at the age of 53, the victim of a cardiac arrest that occurred while she was at work. She leaves behind an impressive athletic legacy, having made her mark on Luxembourgish and international powerlifting history. Her career, highlighted by several European and world titles and records, makes her a true pioneer in her sport.
